Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we go when we arrive?

On arrival, the organising teacher/adult needs to report to the admission desk located in the Visitor Centre. A member of the Access & Learning Department will come out to greet you. If you arrive by foot please make your way to the admissions desk located in the Visitor Centre. Please note that the museum opens at 10am. If your party arrives before this time please wait in your coach or by the entrance to the reception until 10 as we cannot let you into the museum before this time.

Are all parts of the Museum accessible to wheelchair users?

Yes all parts of the museum are accessible to wheelchair users. It is helpful for us if you inform us prior to your visit if there are wheelchair users within your party.

Does the Museum allow the use of cameras?

Yes! You can use cameras, camcorders etc throughout your visit in any part of the museum.

Will we have a personal guide throughout the day?

Only your chosen activity is led by museum staff. Visits to other parts of the museum are led by the teachers themselves.

Should we adhere to the timetable at all times?

The timetable is flexible; however there are some elements that must be adhered to at the specified times e.g. Your chosen activity, lunch and Fun n Flight

Is there a designated lunch area?

Yes! There is a small area in Hangar 1 which must be pre booked. If the weather is nice and you would prefer to eat outside we also have an outdoor picnic area near the Visitor Centre.

How do I pay?

Please remember to bring payment with you on the day. Payments for workshops are accepted at the Admissions desk and you can pay with cash, cheque or card (cheques should be made payable to RAF Museum.) If you have requested Simulator rides and/or Souvenir bags payment is accepted by cash or cheque only and cheques should be made payable to RAF Museum shop.
