Children's Writer in Residence - Tom Palmer
Tom Palmer is the RAF Museum's children's writer in residence. In the lead up to the Royal Air Force centenary in 2018, Tom will be working with the museum's visitors to help them get the best out of their experience.
He will be offering advice on writing short stories which help visitors engage with the museum's amazing collection. Tom and the Access and Learning team will be developing new ideas for school children and families.
Some of the books Tom has written have a sports theme. His new Rugby Academy series features the children of RAF families, which he researched at the museum and nearby Albrighton Primary School. He has been commissioned to write three new books during 2015. This new series entitled 'Wings' will feature three of the iconic aircraft from the museum's collection starting with the early days of the Royal Flying Corp to the modern day Royal Air Force.
In his new role, Tom will regularly blog about the progress he is making with the Wings books. You can find out more about Tom and his children's books via his website.
