Cosford Flights of Fantasy

24th - 25th November 2012

This brand new event to the RAF Museum will take you back to times gone by with TV sci-fi favourites. For one weekend only the Museum will be displaying puppets and memorabilia from the iconic science fiction shows of Gerry and Sylvia Anderson. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to view puppets of iconic characters such as Thunderbirds, Joe 90, Steve Zodiac, the heroic pilot of Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet and more. These characters inspired a generation when the sci-fi series hit TV screens in the 60's and 70's. Some of the puppets being exhibited are original studio puppets from the series and are on public exhibition for the first time. There will also be a stunning display of models, costumes, full sized vehicles and sets from the classic live action show Space 1999.

The exhibition will be a first for the RAF Museum Cosford and will be taking place on the upper level of the National Cold War Exhibition alongside a backdrop of aircraft which inspired the look and design of the shows. There will also be a small number of trade stands with associated merchandise.
