Foundation Stage Educational Activities

Story Time

Children can participate in a story telling session about various transport and aircraft adventures. The session also involves a short tour around the museum.

Activity type: Museum staff led workshop
Duration: Approximately 1 hour.
Class size: Maximum 20 children per class. Maximum 3 classes per day.
Cost: £10

Helicopters

Children learn how helicopters fly by exploring our helicopter collection and cutting and folding paper rotors which are then test flown!

Activity type: Museum staff led workshop
Key Stage: Reception classes only.
National Curriculum links: Sc1 Scientific enquiry, Sc3 Materials and their Properties, Sc4 Physical Processes - Forces and Motion
Duration: Approximately 45 minutes
Cost: £15 per class
Class size: Maximum 30 children per class, 3 classes per day.

Art

Children are welcome to do first-hand observation drawings of our aircraft in the various aircraft halls. However we ask that children use only dry media.

Photography is also allowed throughout the museum.
