Bespoke Birthday Celebrations for Adults

If you are searching for a bespoke celebration for an adult family member who is an aviation enthusiast, or a former member of the RAF, we are able to arrange a celebratory package for them, in accordance with your budget, at the Museum.

Birthday Parties for Children

What more could any future pilot ask for than to have a birthday party at their favourite museum with their friends and closest family members?

Suitable for children age 5 and above the package below operates on weekends throughout the year, except for Summer, Half Term and Easter Holidays, and consists of a Birthday Party Lunch, with Goody Bag and Activity Sheets, plus a special gift for the Birthday Boy and Girl all for a very affordable £12.50 per child.

(Price includes hot lunch, goody bags and activity sheets.)

Please note, from 1 April 2010, a small car parking charge will be payable by visitors to the Royal Air Force Museum. The income generated will be used to assist in meeting the costs of maintaining the Museum's national collection and of operating its sites. The party organiser's car will be exempt from paying (further details of obtaining a car parking pass will be given when a booking is made), however the remaining cars will need to pay the following fee:

3 Hours - £2.50 per car
3-6 Hours - £3.50 per car
Coaches are free of charge
Blue Badge holders - charges apply as above

  • Lunch also includes a carton of Orange or Apple Juice & Pot of Jelly.
  • Please note, parties with over 15 children will be seated on two tables.

Suggested Schedule

12:00 Suggested Arrival Time, pick up Activity Sheets from Milestones of Flight Reception Area
12:30-14:30 Lunch in Wings Restaurant at time of your choice. Please indicate this on the Birthday Party Booking Form.(Allow 1 Hour).
13.30-15.30 Completion of activity sheets in Milestones of Flight, Bomber Hall, Historic Hangars.
15.30-16.00 Start activity sheets in Battle of Britain Hall.
16.00-17.00 Watch "Our Finest Hour" at 16:00 and continue with activty sheets, before departing at 17:00.

Information

  • £12.50 per child - Admission staff will take payment for the party on arrival at the Museum.
  • Package for children aged 5 years and above.
  • Please note, this is a self guided party.
  • Minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20 children per party.
  • Activity sheets, pencils and goody bags will be left at the admissions desk in MIlestones of Flight (by the yellow and grey sculpture).
  • Children need to be accompanied by adults at all times.
  • Balloons (around 3 are included, if you would like to bring more then this is acceptable) are included in the birthday package.
  • Please note, apart from a birthday cake, no additional food is allowed in the restaurant.
  • Storage for the birthday cake can be provided.
  • Take off in our flight simulator for only £1.75 per person (children & adults - normal price £2.75). Height restriction of 1.25 metres applies.
  • Package valid until March 2010.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does this package cost?
The cost is £12.50 per child for all bookings made before 31st March 2010.

What size groups can you cater for?
The minimum group size for this package is 8 children and the maximum 20 children per party.

Does the catering include food for adults?
The catering provided is solely for children attending the party. If you would like to organise catering for adults supervising the party, please ask about this at the time of booking.

Where do we go when we arrive?
When you arrive please make your way to the Milestones of Flight Reception where your children's goody bags and activity sheets will be waiting for them.

Will we have a personal guide for this experience?
This experience does not include a personal guide around the Museum. Children must be accompanied at all times around the Museum by responsible adults. We recommend one adult per 5 children attending this event.

Is there a designated area for the Birthday Tea Party?
Yes! As part of the package we will reserve the appropriate size of table(s) for your party, which will be decorated with banners and balloons.

Are all parts of the Museum accessible to wheelchair users?
Yes all parts of the museum are accessible to wheelchair users. It is helpful for us if you inform us prior to your visit if there are wheelchair users within your party.

Does the Museum allow the use of cameras?
Yes! You can use cameras, camcorders etc throughout your visit in any part of the museum.

How do I pay?
Please remember to bring payment with you on the day which is to be paid at the Milestones of Flight reception. The amount due is on your covering letter. You can pay with cash, cheques or card. We accept payment by Maestro, Switch, Visa, Barclaycard, AMEX. Cheques should be made payable to Royal Air Force Museum.
