Opening Times & Admission Policy

Christmas and Museum Closures

The Museum will be closed from Christmas Eve until Boxing Day and on New Year's Day during the Festive Season. It will be open from 27 - 31 December 2010 and from 2 - 10 January 2011 before closing from 10 - 14 January 2011 inclusive for annual maintenance and repairs.

Please note that whilst every effort is made to keep the entire Museum open during scheduled opening times, is not always possible for health and safety reasons. We are not always able to give advance notification of any closures. We apologise for an inconvenience that this may cause. The most likely areas to be affected by closures are:

• The Upper Galleries in the Historic Hangars
• The Mezzanine floor in the Battle of Britain Hall (including the Sunderland Flying Boat)

Admissions Policy

• Children under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times during their visit.
• For admission purposes and for your safety, we will record your admission. Please let us have your postcode for marketing purposes.
• We reserve the right to refuse admission to the Museum at any time.
• Personal Photography and filming is permitted, those with commercial requirement please visit the Commercial Photography for more information.
• Some charging may be necessary for Holiday Activities.
