Get the entire family working together exploring the museum and the fun side of flight.
Visit our newly refurbished Battle of Britain Hall and get up close and personal to aircraft that flew in the Battle itself. Be amazed by the 5m high statue of Sir Keith Park and take in our free emotive sound and light show 'Our Finest Hour' about 'The Few' which runs daily from 1pm to 5pm in the Hall.
Don't forget to visit the Hall's Mezzanine level, which is currently showing our Battle of Britain Art Exhibition or to visit Winston Churchill as he gives his Battle of Britain speech to the nation from his office in No.10 Downing Street.
Then leave the Hall by taking a trip through our interactive Sunderland Flying Boat - ideal for fascinating the younger members of the family.
Other areas of interest for our younger visitors include the Museum's free 3D cinema, on the top floor of our Milestones of Flight Gallery, plus its 'Control Tower' viewing Gallery onto the aircraft below and our interactive Gallery for children 'Aeronauts' where they can learn about the principles of flight by participating in a series of interactive experiments. They may think that they are playing, but in reality, they will be learning.
As a special treat, why not fly with the Red Arrows or take part in a Battle of Britain Dogfight, in one of our 2 simulators for just £2.75 per child? Height restrictions apply. And why not get more out of your visit, by downloading one of the free trails which can be found in the Learning Section of this website or if you are a Scout Leader the section for Scout Troops.
