The Daily Mail newspaper sponsors the first model aircraft show at the Agricultural Hall in London. The first prize of £75 is won by Alliott Verdon Roe in a model aircraft 'fly-off' at Alexandra Palace.

Also this year...
Horatio Phillips flies his 'Multiplane' for about 152 metres (500 feet) at Streatham, but this powered and piloted flight is not officially credited.
