The Royal Air Force Museum is Britain’s National Museum that tells the story of the RAF through its people and collections. It has three sites (London, Cosford and Stafford) and a trading company which supplements its funding which comes principally from the Ministry of Defence.

The London site of the Museum has just undergone an ambitious transformation, opening three new galleries that share the story of the RAF through a new approach to interpretation and high-quality visitor experience.

With digital being a core enabler in the next phase of the Museum’s development, the RAF Museum London site is now looking for a Digital Transformation Officer to build upon this success.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible, adaptable and resilient, reflecting the mixed level of digital literacy across the Museum departments.  The role presents an exciting and exhilarating challenge conceiving, driving and delivering major innovation and cultural change within the Museum.

The successful applicant must have relevant qualifications or equivalent experience of leading a digital transformation project within a cultural or heritage environment as well as thorough knowledge of digital transformation issues and challenges, and the ability to explain these to internal and external stakeholders.

This is a great time to join the RAF Museum during a time of unprecedented change and we welcome applications from those that can positively contribute to that change.

The post will be based in Colindale, NW London. Travel between the Museum’s sites and other venues in the UK may be required from time to time.

You will be offered excellent benefits, including 30 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme, an annual season ticket loan and other staff benefits, whilst developing your career at a world-class museum.
