HEAD OF IT - London
Colindale, NW London
The Royal Air Force Museum is a National Museum that tells the story of the RAF through its people and collections. It has three sites (London, Cosford and Stafford) and a trading company which supplements its funding which comes principally from the Ministry of Defence.
The RAF Museum is looking for an experienced and credible Head of IT to join our highly successful Museum.
You will be joining us during a period of significant change, in the lead up to our funded RAF Centenary celebrations and commemorations in 2018. Central to these RAF Centenary activities will be the role IT performs within the corporate body of the Museum.
The successful candidate will manage a small IT team across two sites (London and Cosford) and will need to demonstrate experience of successfully implementing IT strategy, that takes account of the current funding climate within UK based heritage organisations.
As well as strong hands-on IT knowledge and experience, you must have excellent relationship building and influencing skills, project management experience and the ability to motivate and lead a small team of IT professionals.
As a member of the Museum’s Senior Management Group, you will play a key role in the on-going development of the IT function and Museum.
This is an exciting time to join the Museum during a time of unprecedented change and we welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate that they can positively contribute to this change.
The post will be based in Colindale, NW London. Travel between the Museum sites will be necessary.
Please send us your CV and cover letter to firstname.lastname@example.org with ‘Head of IT - London’ on the subject line.
