Our Little Swifts sessions for pre-school children (aged 2-5 years) currently include arts and crafts, games, stories and songs. Each fun and lively session is linked to our amazing collection and helps bring our Museum to life.

These sessions are part of our Learning Programme and are designed to encourage more families with pre-school children to visit the Museum. Our Little Swifts sessions have been running once a month during 2017 and we are now increasing that to twice a month in 2018.

We are looking for a freelancer to run one session a month, on the second Tuesday of the month (term time only). This opportunity is available for 3 sessions in the first instance.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Planning, preparing and delivering the sessions for up to 20 pre-school children plus accompanying adults
Setting up prior to and clearing up after the sessions
Be responsible for the safeguarding of children during the session
Be responsible for the health and safety of all session participants

Working hours would be 10am-12pm to include set up and clear up for sessions. The sessions run from 10.30am – 11.30am on the second Tuesday of each month (term time only – dates are on the Museum website).

First session will be Tuesday 13th March 2018.

Paid at £100 per session (inclusive of planning and delivery).

It is essential that you have a current DBS certificate and public liability insurance up to £1 million.

If you are interested in applying for this opportunity, please send your CV (including references), a brief covering letter and an outline of a 1 hour session for our Little Swifts, detailing activities and timings. The session must be relevant to the RAF Museum.

Email by Wednesday 14th February 2018.
