Alan and Robin's 5 Marathons in 5 Days -

A Walk-a-thon in Aid of the RAF Museum's RAF Centenary Programme.

Alan and Robin's 5 Marathons in 5 Days is proudly sponsored by Spitfire Ale

We – Alan Coppin and Robin Southwell, both Trustees of the RAF Museum – will be walking from the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford to the Royal Air Force Museum London setting off on 8 May 2017. We will be joined  for individual stages by four other Trustees – ACM Sir Glenn Torpy (Chairman), Nick Sanders, Malcolm White and Mike Schindler along with staff and volunteers from the Museum led by CEO Maggie Appleton.

The Royal Air Force is supporting the walk and we will be staying at a number of RAF stations en route before a ’crossing-the-finishing-line’ event on 12 May.

We are raising £100,000 for the RAF Museum’s RAF Centenary Programme, a multi-million pound transformation of the Museum, telling the RAF story on site and online.

An artist's impression of what our future site will look like in 2018

Work has already started, thanks to the £20 million already raised, but we need your assistance to help the Museum realise its ambitious plans.

To succeed and to ensure the RAF is properly honoured for the historic and the current role it undertakes for our nation we need your support.

Please help us by :

•             Donating at :
•             Sending us messages of support and following our progress on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook
•             Reading about our journey online and cheering us on as we walk the route.

Thank you,

   Alan Coppin        Robin Southwell

  • Music to March to

Both of us have been training over the last few months, walking four to five miles today and found that the following songs have helped immeasurably when we've started to flag! Right, after 'Three'....

'But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walks a thousand miles
To fall down at your door

Da da da (da da da)
Da da da (da da da)

Da da da dun diddle un diddle un diddle uh da

Da da da (da da da)
Da da da (da da da)

Da da da dun diddle un diddle un diddle uh da'

We hope you enjoy the selection. If there are any other songs that you think we should add to our playlist, let us know.
