Greyhounds Play

29 June 2019

Time and Again Theatre Company

Time: 11.00am and 3.00pm – duration approximately 1 hour

Cost: £10.00/£5.00 (children aged 12+, serving personnel and veterans)

To celebrate Armed Forces Day, Time and & Again Theatre Company will be performing ‘Greyhounds’ in the Auditorium in the National Cold War Exhibition.

The year is 1941 and rehearsals for Henry V are underway.  Greyhounds entwines Shakespeare’s famous story of ‘warlike Harry’ with the trials and tribulations of small village life during the Second World War. Within the wooden O of the local village hall, where every scene is set, the residents of Shuttlefield rehearse, gossip and indulge in some seriously bad acting as the night of the performance draws ever closer.  The hapless residents are preparing to perform Shakespeare’s Henry V to raise money for their local spitfire fund.

The play is recommended for families with children over 12 years old.

The play will form part of a weekend of celebrations across the whole site for Armed Forces Day and ticket holders will be able to have a closer look inside the cockpits of the world’s oldest Spitfire Mk 1 before the performance.
