Life Stories: From Basra to Sydney

14 September 2019

Sgt Paul Twitchell

‘Life Stories’ is a series of talks by guest speakers, who will share their own unique experiences from their time in the Royal Air Force.

The guest speaker for September is Sgt Paul ‘Twitch’ Twitchell.

Allow Twitch to take you on a gritty, emotional, funny and inspirational journey through his battle with mental health illness. Following several tours of Iraq carrying out bomb disposal duties, PTSD all but destroyed everything dear to him.

Saved by an extremely unlikely stranger, Prince Harry sparked the fire under Twitch that would see him transform from a suicidal PTSD sufferer to an Invictus Games medallist.

The talk will take place Saturday 14 September at 2.00pm, places are free and can be booked now.

‘Life Stories’ forms part of the RAF Museum's RAF Stories project. Launched as part of the Museum’s RAF Centenary Programme, RAF Stories is an online collection accessible to everyone to submit, share and explore stories of people’s personal connections to the RAF.

Another free Life Stories talk is scheduled at Cosford:

True Colours - 12 October
