Terms and Conditions of Entry

Age of Entry

 • This experience is suitable for visitors aged 13+. Children aged 13+ must obtain permission from their parents before using this experience. Children, below the age of 13, may use this experience under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. Should any negative effects be observed in a child during the experience, the Museum reserves the right to immediately stop the experience. 

We would request that younger children should be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian while near the experience to ensure that they do not play near the experience or cause themselves or others potential injury by entering onto the experience’s platform while it is in use.

 

Information for Visitors with Fitted Medical Devices

This experience can emit radio waves that can interfere with the operation of nearby electronic devices. If you have a cardiac pacemaker or other implanted medical device, do not enter this experience until you have consulted with your doctor or the manufacturer of your medical device and they have agreed that you can do so safely. 

If you have been given permission to enter this experience by your doctor or manufacturer of your device please make the Operator aware before boarding. 

They will ensure that you are not given a haptic vest, which uses magnetic transduction to create the effect of bass passing through the body, to simulate the effect of the aircraft in flight.

 

Information for Women that are Pregnant

Women that are pregnant or who possibly could be pregnant should not use the haptic vest until they have spoken first and received permission from their doctor to use one. 

If you receive such permission from your doctor to use a haptic vest we would strongly recommend that you keep the vest’s intensity at very low levels and minimise the time that you expose yourself and your child to the vibrations.

Should you feel any pain or discomfort during your experience, please immediately ask the Operator to stop the experience and assist you with the removal of the vest. We would recommend that you immediately see your family doctor.

 

Information for Wheelchair Users

This experience is accessible to visitors in a wheelchair. Please consult with your doctor first about the suitability of using a haptic vest before wearing one as part of this experience, particularly if you suffer from a back, neck or spinal injury. 

If you receive such permission from your doctor to use a haptic vest we would strongly recommend that you keep the vest’s intensity at very low levels and minimise the time that you expose yourself to the vibrations.

Should you feel any pain or discomfort during your experience, please immediately ask the Operator to stop the experience and assist you with the removal of the vest. We would recommend that you immediately see your family doctor. 

 

Information for Visitors who have Photosensitivity

This experience relies upon visual effects, such as light flashes, which may trigger epileptic seizures, fainting, or severe dizziness. If you have a previous history of epilepsy, seizures, loss of awareness, or other symptoms linked to an epileptic condition, please consult your doctor before using the experience. 

To reduce the likelihood of a seizure do not enter the experience if you are tired or in need of sleep.
 

 

Information for Visitors without Perception of Depth

Individuals who have amblyopia (an imbalance in visual strength between the two eyes), strabismus (misaligned eyes), or other conditions that inhibit focusing, depth perception or normal 3D vision may not experience the 3D effects of the experience’s Virtual Reality headsets.

We would therefore advise you not to purchase a ticket.

 

Possible physical and psychological effects

The content within this experience has been created to be as historically accurate and as life-like as possible. This may cause your brain and body to react accordingly. This may lead to an increased heart-rate, an increase in blood pressure, panic attacks, anxiety, PTSD, fainting and other adverse effects. 

If you have suffered from any of these symptoms in the past or have previously undergone a negative psychological reaction, we would advise you not to purchase a ticket.

If at any time during the Immersive Histories: Dambusters Virtual Reality experience the Operator observes any participant experiencing an adverse reaction which may cause harm to the participant themselves or anyone else, the Museum reserves the right to immediately stop the experience. 

Should this happen we would recommend that the person experiencing the adverse reaction seeks medical attention from their doctor.

If the Operator of feels that it is not safe or possible for you to fully enjoy the Immersive Histories: Dambusters Virtual Reality experience the Museum reserves the right to refuse access, without refunding your ticket/s.
