IPMS Hendon Model Show

The Hendon Model Show is now in its sixth year and is a regular calendar event at the Royal Air Force Museum.
The show features displays of static models from over 40 exhibitors which include:
- Miniature figures
- Model aircraft
- Science fiction subjects
The Bomber Hall will host a large road layout which features working lorries and cranes all lit with miniature lighting systems - a definite hit with children!
In 2014 there will be thirty trade stands selling modelling products, reference books, magazines and kits at competitive prices and these are located in the Dermot Boyle wing (behind the Supermarine Stranraer).
The Museum's shop carries an extensive range of the two most popular model kit brands; Airfix and Revell. As the sponsors of the show Airfix and Revell provide generous prizes for the open model competition, which features thirteen different classes of model, including the ever popular junior section.
The theme of the 2014 show will be the commemoration of the start of the First World War. A
ll models of subjects from this era are particularly welcome. Other attractions on the day will include lectures from specialist model makers to the film and TV world and the AGM of the International Plastic Modeller's Society.

There will be a flypast on Sunday 11th May 2014. An Avro Lancaster will pass over the museum at 11.10am.
