Call for Speakers for RAF Museum 2019 Lecture Series

Published on: 13 December 2018

Following the successful celebration and commemoration of the Centenary of the Royal Air Force in 2018, the RAF Museum seeks proposals from postgraduate students, early-career and established researchers for our annual Research Programme.

Our Research Programme includes three lecture series: The Trenchard Lectures in Air Power Studies held in conjunction with the Royal Aeronautical Society in London and the University of Wolverhampton in the Midlands; The Legacy of the First World War Lunchtime Lectures at RAF Museum London; and The Cold War Lunchtime Lectures at RAF Museum Cosford.

Each series aims to examine air power in its broadest sense encompassing not only the history of air warfare and the RAF, but also related fields such as archaeology, law and ethics, museology, international relations, and strategic studies.

For 2019, The Lunchtime Lectures at RAF Museum London will consider how the First World War influenced ideas of air power and their advocates during a period of new commitments. We invite proposals for this series and The Cold War Lunchtime Lectures at RAF Museum Cosford.

If you are interested in delivering a Lunchtime Lecture, please send a title, 300-word abstract of your proposed paper and a one-page CV to the Museum’s Historian, Harry Raffal by Friday 11 January 2019.

Please indicate to which series your proposal is linked.

We are now welcoming applications for researchers to give a lecture at the Museum.
