Hangar 6 Now Open

Published on: 18 February 2019

We are very happy to announce that Hangar 6 is finally open to the public after its flood on New Year’s Day. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience while we carried out our repairs.

To celebrate the re-opening of Hangar 6 we would like to share a video where Kris Hendrix, our Researcher, reveals some incredible facts about the Blackburn Buccaneer, later known as the Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer, which is on display in Hangar 6 as part of our ‘RAF: In an Age of Uncertainty’ exhibition.

Did you know that the Buccaneer can fly so low that once during an exercise with the American Air Force an American Interceptor couldn’t find the it because the Buccaneer was flying even lower than the Interceptor itself?

Once you have viewed Kris’ video why not drop in to view the Buccaneer and the other marvellous aircraft in our ‘RAF in the Age of Uncertainty’ exhibition?

We are open daily from 10.00am. Admission is free.
