Storytelling Sessions
Date: Wednesday 31 May & Thursday 1 June 2017

Time: 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm & 3:00 pm (each session lasts for 25 minutes)

Join us for free storytelling sessions in the Home Front rooms and be transported back to 1942! Come and meet ‘Margery’ who busy is demonstrating how to make the most of her rations allowance by following some simple but unusual recipes. But, with the war on you never know when you might have to march off to the air-raid shelter! It promises to be a fun story-telling session for the whole family to enjoy.

Spot the Slang Trail

Date: Saturday 27 May to Sunday 4 June 2017

Time: 10:00 am-5:00 pm

Cost: £1 per trail

The First World War brought together service personnel from different countries and backgrounds. Slang words were used to help people to describe some of their experiences and this new trail will help families work together and learn some of the terms used.

The Spot the Slang trail costs £1.00 and the word definitions can be found amongst the exhibits on site during a visit. Trails can be purchased from the Visitor Reception on arrival.
