We announce December's Competition Winners

Published on: 15 January 2018

2018 marks the Centenary of the Foundation of the Royal Air Force. To celebrate this we ran a competition throughout December in which we counted down to midnight on New Year's Eve as we couldn't wait for 2018 - the Royal Air Force's Centenary Year.

To be in with a chance of winning a prize of one RAF100 Gift Packs to give away. All that our entrants had to do was to answer a simple question about the Royal Air Force's foundation by midnight on New Year's Eve.

Everyone who answered correctly went into a free prize draw to win one of our fantastic RAF100 packs, worth over £95 each (including postage and packaging). Each pack contained the following items from our RAF100 gift range:

1 x RAF100 Cookbook
1 x RAF100 Bridgewater Mug
1 x RAF100 Mug
1 x RAF100 Pocket Diary
1 x RAF100 Cufflinks
1 x RAF100 T-Shirt

The question that we asked was as follows:

The Royal Air Force came into existence on 1 April 1918. What was the name of the Act passed by Parliament in November 1917 that created it?

The correct answer was: The Air Force (Constitution) Act.

The three people who answered correctly and whose names were pulled out of the draw this morning were as follows:

  • Mr Berwyn Murray of Kinnerley

  • Mr James Baillie of London

  • Miss Marina DiCaprio of Chester

The Museum would like to take this opportunity to congratulate each of our lucky winners on their win. Their prizes will be wending their way to them in the next couple of days.

We would also like to thank everyone who took part in our competition. If you did not win, but would like to purchase one of items contained within our RAF100 prize pack you may do so here.

We wish you better luck with our next competition, which will be launching soon.
