Time: 10.30am – 3.30pm
Cost: £5.00 for 4 activities (in advance)

Wing your way to the Royal Air Force Museum Midlands this October half term and take part in drone racing, robot football and virtual reality flights, all part of the Tech Week activities on offer during the school break.
The Museum’s National Cold War Exhibition hangar will be transformed into a tech zone where children can choose from a selection of tech based activities, available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday during half term week (28, 30 October and 1 November).
Whether it’s playing Sphero Water Football and using an iPad to manoeuvre the robot through a water filled pitch to score a goal in your opponent’s corner, or piloting a drone through an obstacle course in the quickest time possible in Drone School, families are guaranteed to have fun competing against each other. Enjoy a family game of Sphero Skittles and see how many you can knock down using the sphero robot, or attempt to navigate your way out of the Dash Robot Maze using a blocky based coding language. Suitable for all members of the family, test your tech skills out in this exciting interactive activity.
All four tech activities will run from 10.30am to 3.30pm on selected half term dates. Save money and purchase your ticket for all four activities in advance for just £5.00 per person CLICK HERE. Tickets on the day are £2.00 per activity or three activities for £5.00 (cash only). Plus, tickets holders will also receive 10% off in the Museum shop simply by showing their wristband.
Spitfire Virtual Reality Experience
Date: 26 October – 3 November 2019
Running each day throughout October half term and new at the RAF Museum Midlands for 2019 is the Virtual Reality Zone. If you haven’t tried it already, step inside and experience the thrill of flying in a Spitfire! Located in the Test Flight hangar, this brand-new experience places you in the cockpit and 10,000 feet in the air for a panoramic view of a real Spitfire flight. With the use of VR goggles, thrill seeking visitors can enjoy a 6-minute flight and see first-hand what it’s like to taxi and take-off in a Spitfire, and of course….no flight would be complete without a circuit of the airfield, including low passes and a loop de loop, before landing and taxiing into the hangar.

The footage developed exclusively for the RAF Museum is the first of several new VR experiences on board real aircraft to become available, with more flights arriving soon. The experience is open daily from 10.00am to 4.00pm and costs just £5 per person. Suitable for visitors ages 13+, children under 13 years must obtain permission from their parents/guardian.
The RAF Museum Midlands is perfect for families looking for a great day out during the school break. Home to four hangars packed with aircraft and vehicles and a hands-on interactive Fun ‘n’ Flight area ensures there’s plenty to keep all ages entertained. Open daily from 10.00am, entry to the Museum is free.
