King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visited Bentley Priory

At the height of the Battle of Britain, in September 1940, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth visited Bentley Priory, the headquarters of Fighter Command. Air Chief Marshal Dowding, the Commanding Officer in Chief, (on the right) showed them the progress of the Battle from the operations room.
