The Queen’s Colour Squadron, the elite ceremonial unit of the RAF Regiment, was formed in 1960, tasked with the care and protection of the Queen’s Colour for the Royal Air Force. The Silver Jubilee Review at RAF Finningley provided the venue and occasion for the presentation of a new Colour in 1977.
