Object details
The RAF Museum’s archives are full of extraordinary stories about extraordinary men and women and Avis Hearn was no exception. Refusing to leave her post at an RAF radar station while under devasting attack by German dive bombers, her actions were to see her awarded one of only six Military Medals given to WAAFs during the Second World War. A unique lady and an opportunity to adopt a truly unique piece of RAF history.
