You will need to pre-book your tickets, click on the "Book Tickets" button found at the top of this page. Booking your arrival time helps us to guarantee you the space you need for a safe and enjoyable experience. You will be emailed an order confirmation that will include your unique Booking Reference Number and a barcode that also contains this number.

Admission to the Museum is free of charge.

When you arrive on site, please take your a family and book in at the Visitor Centre (glass fronted building).

At the Check-in desk you will find staff available if you have any questions.

Please note that the Museum opens at 10.00am. If your family arrives before this time please wait in your vehicle or by the Museum entrance until 10.00am as we cannot allow access into the Museum before this time.

If you have pre-booked any guidebooks, simulator ride tickets or 4D Theatre tickets these will be awaiting collection for you at the Museum’s Check-in Desk.

If you and your family are arriving by car or motorhome you will be required to pay for parking.

The charges per vehicle, including blue badge holders, are £5.00 for 0 to 7 hours.

Parking can also be paid for in advance by using this link or can be paid for on site at the check-in desk on day of arrival.

Coaches are free of charge if booked in advance.

Our Airfield Kitchen in the Visitor Centre covers all your families food and drink needs during your visit at the Museum. It opens daily from 10.00am, so join us for breakfast or come later in the day where you will find a large selection of grab and go sandwiches and drinks, along with a lunch menu. 

You are welcome to bring your own food and have a family picnic outside in the spacious grounds.  

Low level barriers ensure excellent viewing of exhibits for all visitors. There are wide aisles in the hangars ensuring access for pushchairs and wheelchairs is very easy. A limited number of manual wheelchairs and motor scooters (weather permitting) are available for loan on site. We do not charge a hire fee but would appreciate if you would be kind enough to leave a donation. These are available on a first come first served basis at the Check-In desk on arrival in the Visitor Centre.

Unfortunately, storage is not available. 

We recommend that bags and coats are kept to a minimum and either left in your car, on the coach or carried around.

Of course. Go capture your family in action!

Photography, including filming, the taking of digital images and the use of flash, is permitted, but solely for private use. Please stay within the visitor route when taking photographs.

The Museum can organise tours for your family so you can enjoy learning about flying machines with your kids. Our team of volunteer guides have an interest in aviation and the RAF.

These will need to be pre-booked groups with our team and prices are variable depending on the type of tour booked. We have a number of Experience Tours available at 11.00am and 2.00pm on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday which can be booked with your ticket booking or by clicking this link.

You are of course free to make your own way around the Museum.

We would be delighted to welcome your family to our Museum shop located on the lower level in the National Cold War Exhibition. A giant statue of Lenin is positioned above the tills and will help you find it!

You will find a wide range of books, DVDs, models, prints, gifts, clothes, toys, and pocket-money souvenirs to suit any budget. There are also bargains to be found on the nearly new aviation bookstall.

Please can we ask that groups of no more than 10 children should visit the shop at any one time and that children are accompanied by an adult.

Yes, the RAF Museum has Public Liability Insurance of up to £5 million.
