The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Cosford. RAF Museum Enterprises Ltd is the trading arm of the RAF Museum with all profits gift-aided to the Museum to support its charitable activities. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future – using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire everyone. Our overall vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.
The RAF Museum is looking for an experienced Head of Collections and Research to join the team at an exciting time to support delivery of our ‘Strategy 2030’, with major programmes planned to enhance our visitor experience, develop our collections and help us inspire everyone with the RAF story.
The Head of Collections and Research is a key role with our senior management group, leading the curatorial team in the research, development and sharing of the Museum’s collections. You will have excellent knowledge of and passion for the RAF story and/or a relevant subject specialism. You will support delivery of Strategy 2030 to budget, defined deadlines and to the highest quality standards.
The post may be based at our London or Cosford site. You will be expected to travel regularly between our sites and to other locations, as and when the role requires it, including outside the UK.
