The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Midlands. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future – using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire. Our Vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Royal Air Force Museum as we undertake our next Capital Fundraising Campaign, the RAF Museum Midlands Development Programme. This exciting project has received NLHF backing, and the role be fundamental in helping us achieve this and other strategic goals.
As the Strategy 2030 Campaign Manager, you will play a key role in the development and delivery of our campaign, building cases for support around the Master Plan and strong regional relationships with funders. Working closely with the Head of Development, Senior Leadership Team, Head of Major Projects and Development Team members, as well as other internal stakeholders, you will help to raise the funds needed to realise this ambitious project which will positively impact our visitors, local communities and heritage, allowing us to share the stories of the RAF and its people in new and inspiring ways.
The ideal candidate will have strong fundraising credentials, a natural flair for engaging others with project aims and outcomes, and proven experience of £1m + major appeal fundraising in the cultural sector. Ideally, you will have experience in building partnerships and stakeholder support across a range of funding sources and be a creative problem solver and excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative working environment.
This is a 12-month maternity cover role.
The role is ideally based at our Midlands site, but a London base with travel required will be considered.
