£17,225 per annum
The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two sister sites at London and Cosford. RAF Museum Enterprises Ltd is the trading arm of the RAF Museum with all profits gift-aided to the Museum to support its charitable activities. Our purpose is to share the RAF story, past, present and future – using the stories of its people and our collections in order to engage, inform and inspire everyone. Our overall vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story – the people who shape it and its place in our lives.
The Museum is looking to expand its visitor offer and develop new ways of telling the story of the RAF. We are looking for an experienced Visitor Experience Supervisor. You must be a pro-active and customer-focused individual to be part of this exciting change.
The ideal candidate will have previous supervisory experience, preferably in a Museum or visitor attraction capacity. You should be confident in managing a diverse team in a changing environment where you are looked upon for direction and providing motivation.
You will be leading from the front to ensure every aspect of our visitor journey is enjoyable and safe. You will work with all departments to ensure the balance of visitor experience and collection protection is maintained. You will also manage the team to maximise their potential and engage with our customers.
You will need to be a confident communicator and be able to respond quickly and positively in a changing environment. Being flexible in your outlook is essential as you will be fulfilling a variety of roles at the Museum.
You will be part of a small team of supervisors who manage the Visitor Experience Team and support day to day operations of the whole site.
In addition to the above, we are looking for an individual who can build positive relationships with other teams within the Museum and with Museum partners and seek out commercial opportunities and maintain the current offer.
The role has an Event Specialism where you will be expected to support and enable Museum events to grow and succeed. Working closely with the Events team to communicate and support the event programme, along with evaluating and developing events at the Museum.
The post will be based at our Cosford site. This is a full-time position, with regular weekend and bank holiday working. There will be a requirement to work some evenings and occasional overnights as part of this role, so flexibility is essential.
