Object details

Small figure of a female aviator. Flying suit and helmet are green velvet with a beige face, on which are drawn female features. The figure wears brown boots, a fur collar and two sashes. The upper sash is blue with gold text reading 'London-Cape' whilst the lower is in red with gold text reading 'London-India'. A pair of woolen googles are also part of the item but have become detached.

Amy Johnson was the first female pilot to fly solo from England to Australia in 1930. If you look closely on her sash, you will see some of the record-breaking flights she went on to perform. The perfect adoption for any budding pilot or record breaker!

Featuring a personalised certificate, postcard of Amy Johnson, and a soft toy keyring of our RAF Museum pilot bear, this adoption would make a perfect gift for someone special – or yourself!
