On Sunday 8 November, the RAF Museum Midlands will host a Remembrance Day Service to honour members of the armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice during their tours of duty.
Visitors are warmly invited to join the service, led by RAF Cosford’s Station Chaplain, Deacon (Sqn Ldr) Anthony Curran, and reflect on the sacrifices of service personnel past and present. This year’s ceremony will take place beneath the iconic Avro Vulcan in the Museum’s National Cold War Exhibition, providing a powerful and moving backdrop to pause and remember.

Throughout the service guests will enjoy hymns performed by the Cosford Military Wives Choir, accompanied by readings, prayers, and the traditional sounding of ‘The Last Post’. There will be a two-minute silence and wreaths laid in memory of those who have fallen in service to their country.
Shannon Bent, RAF Museum Midlands Public Events Manager, said:
‘Our Remembrance Day service provides a moment to come together and pay tribute to all those who have given their lives in service, as well as to recognise the impact their sacrifice continues to have on families and communities today. As a Museum, we have a responsibility to preserve these stories and help future generations understand why they matter. We warmly welcome visitors to join us at the Museum as we pause and remember them.’

Admission to the Museum and the Remembrance Day Service is free of charge. Visitors are kindly asked to arrive by 10.30am, in preparation for the service to begin at 10.45am. Please note that seating is limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, with additional standing room available.
After the service, guests are encouraged to explore the Museum galleries at their leisure.
