Complete Stages 1 & 2 of the Air Activities Badge at RAF Museum Midlands!

Join us for our popular Scouts Takeover Day at RAF Museum Midlands, where we invite Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to the Museum to complete Stages 1 and 2 of the Air Activities Badge!

Our Access and Learning staff will lead the event, facilitating activities designed to fulfil all of the necessary criteria for gaining the badges: this includes a pilot talk and Q&A session!

This event is completely free to groups and is a standalone event, funded by the Royal Air Force Youth Engagement Team. To complete the Air Activities Badge in a self-guided capacity at the Museum, or to book your group in for any other reason, please see general Scout visits.

Bookings are now open for our next Scouts event on 12 October 2024! Please email learning-midlands@rafmuseum.org to secure a spot for your group.

Join Our School Advisory Board!

The Royal Air Force Museum is delighted to announce it has been awarded investment from The National Lottery Heritage Lottery Fund for its Inspiring Everyone: RAF Museum Midlands Development Programme.

This ambitious project will deliver a major regional engagement programme, alongside a site transformation. An immersive exhibition will explore today’s RAF, a new Learning Centre will provide bespoke facilities, and a purpose-built Collections Hub will enable the Museum’s stored collection to be shared with the public for the first time. The complementary development of a woodland landscape and new public realm will encourage outdoor learning, discovery, and contemplation. The project will also support the Museum to achieve its commitment to Carbon Net Zero by 2030. Throughout the programme, we will learn alongside the RAF, working with their environmental think tank to invest in sustainable technologies and operations.

To help us co-curate and co-create, we are looking for teachers to join our School Advisory Board to shape the future of learning at the RAF Museum. Throughout the development period, we will be working closely with school groups on bespoke projects. If you would be interested in supporting us and being the first to know about these works, register for our School Advisory Board.
