TANK HEAVENS 2025

Date: Saturday 22nd November 2025, 4.30pm to 8pm
Location: RAF Museum Midlands – National Cold War Exhibition

Get ready for an unforgettable evening of heavy metal history! Join us after hours for Tank Heavens, a rare opportunity to climb inside some of the most iconic armoured vehicles ever built — the Centurion, Leopard, and BMP-1 tanks.

Step into the Commander’s seat, snap some incredible photos, and feel the sheer power and engineering brilliance that defined the Cold War era. Our knowledgeable volunteers will be on hand throughout the evening, sharing fascinating stories and insights about these legendary machines and the people who operated them.

Once you’ve toured the tanks, you’re free to explore the National Cold War Exhibition at your own pace — wander through immersive displays, marvel at aircraft that once ruled the skies, and experience the tension, innovation, and heroism that shaped a generation.

Whether you’re a military history enthusiast, a photography buff, or simply looking for a one-of-a-kind night out — Tank Heavens promises an experience that’s every bit as powerful as the machines themselves.

All visitors will receive a free goody bag!

Spaces are limited — book now and prepare to roll into history!

Please note: Climbing inside the tanks requires a moderate level of physical ability. Access involves using narrow steps and confined spaces, which may not be suitable for all visitors. Unfortunately, due to the original design of the vehicles, the interiors are not accessible for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility. Our team and volunteers will be happy to assist wherever possible and answer questions outside the tanks.
