The aircraft of The Queen’s Flight were not suitable for long haul flights. Such journeys were flown in more capable aircraft such as BOAC Stratocruisers and RAF Comets. RAF VC10s took over until recently, and chartered British Airways airliners now carry out the long distance flights.
