This Japanese, 950 hp, 14-cylinder, two-row, air-cooled radial engine was used extensively during the Second World War and powered the Mitsubishi A6M5 ‘Zeke’, Nakajima J1N1 and J1N1-S ‘Irving’ and the Nakajima B5N2 ‘Kate’.
