Museum Aircraft on Horse Guards Parade
Published on: 31 March 2016
Tomorrow, Friday 1 April, is the 98th anniversary of the foundation of the Royal Air Force.
To celebrate this we will have 3 aircraft, a Sopwith Snipe, a Spitfire and a Typhoon Jet on Horse Guards Parade, the same aircraft in our RAF Centenary Project logo, on the left. These aircraft will be on-site at Horse Guards Parade until mid-Saturday afternoon.
Join staff from 2pm onwards to find out about a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and witness a RAF Typhoon Jet Flypast over Horse Guards at 3pm (weather permitting).
Members of the public who attend the afternoon wearing something red will be given a small gift by the Museum, subject to availability.
We hope to see you there! #NamesOnAPlane
If you are unable to do so, don't worry we will be posting imagery and updates on our Twitter Stream and Facebook Page during the course of the day.
We can confirm that the Typhoon Jet Flypast over Horse Guards Parade will be East to West over Central London with the Jet heading along the Mall to Buckingham Palace. The Flypast is scheduled to pass over Horse Guards at 3pm precisely.
