Test Flight

Explore more than a century of aviation history in Test Flight at RAF Museum Midlands. See early First World War aircraft, the Gloster Gladiator and Supermarine Spitfire Mk I K9942—the world’s oldest surviving Spitfire. British and German aircraft from the Battle of Britain stand face to face, supported by rare objects and personal stories, including the flying jacket and Victoria Cross medal bar of James Nicolson. The exhibition also features four pioneering experimental aircraft: the Hawker Siddeley Kestrel, Fairey Delta 2, Eurofighter EAP and TSR-2, revealing how bold ideas and testing shaped the future of flight.
