RAF Stories Big Weekend

2 - 3 November 2019

Do you have any memories of the Royal Air Force?

Whether you are currently serving, a veteran, or proud of a family member who has served – we want to hear your story!

The RAF Stories Big Weekend is coming to a venue near you, aiming to record 100 stories in one weekend. On 2 and 3 November, we’ll be at lots of local venues across the country, ready to record hundreds of RAF stories on our RAF Stories app!

You don’t have to be a maverick flying ace, we want to hear stories big and small, to paint a picture of the real RAF. Come and share your story, however big or small with our welcoming volunteers. To find out more about the the participating venues please click below

The RAF Stories Big Weekend takes place on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November, however you should check on which date your local venue is  participating, as not all will be open on both days.

Where is my local venue?
You can find a full list of participating venues here.

What is the process?
When you arrive at a participating venue, you will be welcomed by volunteers who will be happy to explain the process. You will have your stories recorded, as a collection of short anecdotes, by volunteers who will be using the RAF Stories app.

What will happen to my stories?
Your stories once recorded will be added to the ever-growing RAF Stories online collection.

Will I need to bring anything?
You do not need to bring anything as we want to record you sharing your memories. You can bring a couple of photographs if you would like, as volunteers can add these to your story before they are submitted.

Can I share my stories if there is not a venue close to me?
You can share your stories using the RAF Stories app any time, using your smartphone or tablet. The app is free to download from app stores.
