To mark the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, our Unsung Heroes tour turns the spotlight away from the familiar dogfights and iconic fighters, and onto the untold courage and quiet determination that made victory possible.
Experience the Battle of Britain from a fresh angle and celebrate the everyday heroes who kept the nation safe.
Tours will explore the contribution made by:
• Bomber and Coastal Command
• Commonwealth pilots and pilots from occupied Europe
• WAAFs
• Dowding System and technology that supported fighter command
• Various affiliated civilian organisations – Observer Corps, aircraft repair, Air Transport Auxiliary
They will run on selected dates throughout September: 15, 18, 20, 21, 23, 25.
