To mark the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day the RAF Museum connected with local residents and schools to discover more about how the end of the Second World War was celebrated in Barnet. We presented workshops and assemblies exploring the street parties and parades held in our borough and collected stories from residents with recollections of the day.
The project culminated in a large street party at the Museum on 8 May 2025.
This display in the Hangar 2 Community Exhibition space, showcases some of the amazing decorations, poems and diary entries created by participants that made the day so special.
