Six weeks off from school?! But what are we going to do with the kids? Don’t worry the RAF Museum has got you covered.
Introducing the Summer of Fun & Flight, a six-week extravaganza of activities that is guaranteed to keep the kids entertained all summer. With everything from an extremely competitive Top Trump Tournament to a RAF-themed mystery to solve, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.
RC Helicopter Scavenger Hunt & Time Trial
Calling all aspiring helicopter pilots!
This summer, the Museum will offer the opportunity for all to hone their flying skills through its remote control helicopter scavenger hunt and time trial. To qualify for the time trial, visitors will have to scour the Museum for the secret coded message before navigating the course in the quickest time possible to claim their place at the top of the leader board.

RAF Hendon LEGO Reconstruction
Little construction engineers will use the LEGO provided to replicate the space where the activity is to take place as it looked until the late 1980s. We’re going to need a mess hall, communication facilities, barracks, aircraft hangars. service platforms, officer’s stations, a cadet training centre and much more so we’d better get cracking!

Top Trumps Tournament
Do you know your Lightning from your Lancaster? Your Sea King from your Spitfire? Now is your chance to prove it!
Using the Museum’s official Top Trump set, visitors will do battle to be crowned the champion with whoever tops the leader board at the end of each sessions winning an RAF Museum goody-bag.

Airfix Make-&-Take
Airfix Make & Take Workshops are where all generations can come together to build a model of the iconic Supermarine Spitfire. Whoever makes the best Spitfire will also receive a Folland Gnat kit to take away and complete at home.
Kits, paint, glue and brushes all included.

Feel what it’s really like to explore the outer limits of our solar system with this space-themed VR Workshops. Are you brave enough to become a superstar astronaut?

Super Science Show
Expect audience participation and spectacular demonstrations as the RAF Museum’s resident crazy chemists take you on an explosive journey through the scientific world in a way you’ve never experienced before.

In Time!
The clock is ticking to solve the RAF Museum mystery!
In this interactive live experience, families will have to work together to solve the various clues from the costumed characters. Each you meet will have a unique task to complete so carefully consider who you choose to help or hinder.

Crazy Comic Book Workshops
Back by popular demand, join James Parsons of Comic Clun (that’s the crazy guy giving you the evil eye above!) as he guides visitors through the creation of their own Biggles-inspired heroes. During the workshop, keen illustrators will learn how to create a narrative through the medium of pictorial design.
