School activity programme

We offer workshops from EYFS through to KS5
Get hands-on with our Flight Factory workshop

We offer a vast range of exciting activities across the Curriculum, from Foundation Stage to Key Stage 5 and beyond.

2020 is the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and we are offering special anniversary-edition workshops at both Primary and Secondary level. These workshops look at the heroes – both human and aircraft – of this pivotal event, using hands-on exploration of intriguing objects, uniform and flight clothing.

Our new STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) workshops have settled in well with our History-based provision, and this year sees the addition of a KS2 Literacy workshop inspired by the experiences of people in the Royal Air Force. Want to get your pupils writing? Then ‘Sky Writing’ is the workshop for you!

For Secondary teachers interested in developing critical reasoning and debating skills, we offer a facilitated debate which uses a giant digital interactive debating table. Should drones be allowed in our skies, and should we be worried about AI? Let your students argue it out!

If you would prefer us to come to you, then why not book ‘Pilots of The Caribbean’? An interactive drama which tells the stories of African and Caribbean RAF personnel. Also available as an assembly for Primary Schools, this performance is ideal for Black History Month.

Whether it is a Wartime Classroom experience for 30, or a Science Show for 200 that you are after, we can deliver!  Please follow the links on the left to discover what is on offer. We look forward to welcoming you!

Risk Assessment and Health and Safety Advice

The Museum is a public building and has Public Liability Insurance of £5 million.

The Museum buildings have a number of stairs, lifts and self-closing doors. Adult group leaders must remain with their students at all times to supervise their behaviour and safety.
