Location: Hangar 2
Discover Barnet’s rich history, vibrant communities and local stories in From Barnet With Love, a colourful new exhibition celebrating the people and places that make the borough special.
Created by multimedia artist Emma Tominey in collaboration with local residents, the exhibition brings together art, personal memories, historic photographs and augmented reality to explore Barnet’s past, present and future.
Inspired by the first official British air mail flight from Hendon Aerodrome in 1911, the exhibition reimagines the humble postcard as a way of sharing stories and connecting communities. Explore postcards created by local schools, community groups and residents, featuring drawings, collages and creative writing that capture what Barnet means to them.
See history come to life through interactive augmented reality postcards, combining historic scenes with contemporary artwork and animation to reveal familiar places in exciting new ways.
Part of the borough-wide Light + Flight cultural programme, presented by Art in Barnet, this exhibition offers a fascinating celebration of local heritage, creativity and community.
