Following the cancellation of an Iranian Army order, the British army conducted trials with the system and an order was placed to equip the Royal Artillery air defence regiments of the British Army of the Rhine. Tracked Rapier was much more mobile and it was reputedly quicker in use than the towed Rapier systems which were also deployed.
