Chocks away! The Spitfire 10K returns to the RAF Museum London.

Hendon Pageant at the RAF Museum London

On 15 September 2018, we held the Hendon Pageant at our London site on a warm, sunny day.  The Pageant transported our London site back to the 1930s. In an unforgettable day, visitors enjoyed a marvellous vintage fairground, Merlin engine displays, live vintage #music from Auntie Maureen, The Silver Ghosts and Vintage George Formby Tribute and swing dancing lessons with Swing Patrol. They were also able to explore a fantastic living history area populated with re-enactors and to watch a breath-taking flypast of one of the last airworthy Lancasters in the U.K. courtesy of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. 

If you missed this great day out you can now watch a short video about the event. We’ll be planning a similar pageant for next year. Our new track-way  provides better access between the Hangars containing our collections while at the same time creating a new green public-space in the heart of Colindale which recalls the shape of RAF's Hendon's airfield.
