RAF Flight Lieutenant Robbie Stewart was shot down while making a low-level night attack on Tallil Air Base during First Gulf War. He ejected from his aircraft, survived, but was captured by enemy forces becoming a Prisoner of War. His time in an Iraqi prison was the hardest test in his life.
His P.O.W outfit is one of the most poignant objects on display in our new permanent exhibition ‘The RAF in an Age of Uncertainty 1980 – Today’ which is now open to the public in London’s Hangar 6.
Just one of 100 reasons to visit the RAF Museum this summer.
