Almost 3,000 runners supported the RAF Museum by taking part in the Virtual Spitfire 10K and the Virtual Spitfire Family Run in 2020 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.
Runners and challengers from all over the world registered – thank you to everyone who joined us in Europe, South America, the USA, New Zealand, India and the UAE.
In 2020, it was more important than ever for the event to take place. Despite the challenges this year, we managed what we set out to do – commemorated the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and shared significant stories of bravery and ingenuity of the servicemen and women that fought for the UK during the Battle of Britain. But our runners also shared their inspiring stories with us; whether it was an attempt to break a world record, fascinating research of ancestors or simply the achievement to get moving again after months of lockdown!
On behalf of the RAF Museum, thank you for taking part in the Virtual Spitfire 10K, we cannot wait for next year’s event.
