This event is open to all who are passionate about the Royal Air Force, Midlands’ aviation history, family history, and local heritage.

Be captivated by the compelling research presented by our Midlands Bursary Holders, who have explored the profound links between the Midlands, the RAF, and the broader aviation industry.

Welcome to the RAF Museum Midlands c.2027

Then dive into a morning session uncovering fascinating local and regional histories, followed by a chance for you to contribute your ideas on how the RAF Museum can better engage with the Midlands community and enhance accessibility to its collections.

Then conclude the day with enlightening talks from guest speakers and exclusive updates on how our Midlands Development Programme will change our site for Summer 2027. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to be part of our journey in celebrating and preserving the RAF’s Midlands legacy.

The RAF Museum’s Inspiring Everyone: RAF Museum Midlands Development Programme has been made possible thanks to a generous investment from The National Lottery Heritage Fund. The Midlands Bursary Holders form part of this programme and are intended to foster research relevant to the Museum’s local audience in the Midlands which will deepen understanding of the RAF story. The Museum is developing plans further and ground works will commence in 2025.
