Why Fly Around Africa?
With the completion of Sir Alan Cobham’s record-setting flights he knew he had successfully put his message across about the benefits of civil aviation.
He now felt it was time to put this into practice.
Sir Alan Cobham would fly around Africa to collect air route information so he could establish his own airline on the continent.
He always felt that civil aviation would be the best way of bringing people closer together and ultimately ensuring the peace of the world.
